Credit curiosity - thank you for educating me! And you're right - not the card for me (I already came to that conclusion when someone suggested I App for it anyway. My first thought was "why would anyone do this? Lol). Not for my lifestyle though so I apped for the BCE
OP - I'm sorry about the denial! Will you try to recon? So you don't waste the HP?You could have received 50k MR points for spending $1000 in 90 days. You then could have cancelled the card in one year when the AF was due.
It would have cost you one hard pull for ED and PRG.
That's usually the exact thing that gets you AA'd with American Express in the first place. Then the cards would have been closed, again. American Express isn't super forgiving when it comes to bad experiences with cardholders in the past to begin with.
Seems I had an easier time getting an ED card versus the PRG.. Even though I'm CONSTANTLY getting targeted offers (online AND via mail) for the PRG card, but usually get declined when I apply. So, at this point I called requested they remove me from ANY proactive offers and will switch 99% of my card usage to Discover and\or Cap1 Venture card.
At this point I have NO use for the Amex Delta, ED, or Costco TE cards... pretty much done with Amex,.. they can help pad my util, but that's about it!

Don't see how closing a card with AF coming up as causing AA??
