From my limited research, it seems the NFCU Flagship—(FS) CC has a good standing against the BOA Premium Rewards—(PR). I'm curious about what others think of these two cards stacked up against each other. For my CC portfolio, I'm leaning towards the NFCU FS. I have broken down my setup below and would like some input as I'm thinking about applying for FS shortly.
Banking/Investments:
*I do not have investments with BOA and don't really plan on moving my investment portfolio to BOA from CS.
Charles Schwab—(CS) Brokerage Account air-gapped by Investor Checking Account (Brokerage Account # is not used for anything except trusted Direct Deposits—(DD's) from employer)
CS ROTH IRA (Retirements)
CS Brokerage Account (Investments)
Cards:
**Cashback is determined by example: points—(4pts) x 1.25 redemptions amount from CS Platinum into CS Brokerage (Treated as Main Checking Account)
***Cashback is being calculated due to COVID19 pandemic and travel restrictions. I also like to have options and sometimes am lazy about transferring AMEX pts to travel partners. I am fully aware I can get a higher evaluation if I transferred said pts.
I would like to replace Number (4) with a higher (VISA/Mastercard Everything Card) and I'm looking into either (i.) NFCU FS Card or (ii.) BOA PR Card. I'm open to other suggestions except Chase as we do not get along anymore–(Long Story but they decided to randomly close my accounts when I was in good standing a couple of years ago).
Note:
Thank you,
No brainer. If you have no assets with Boa, you may get good limits based on your income alone but Navy is just too good of a lender. For someone who has money or will use the csrd, it has a low AF imo and chance at a 25k and low apr are high. Mingle that in you could get it up to 80k in time if you choose. Just my average pick![]()
Actually without assets at BofA it would be difficult to be approved for the Premium Rewards card. Just do a search of the forum to see how many people, including many heavy hitters, have been turned down for it. And without being eligible for BofA Preferred Rewards status the PR card's rewards multiplier would be useless.
Good catch @Anonymous hope you and family are ok![]()

@AverageJoesCredit You're welcome. We are all doing fine; hopefully you and yours are well too.

@AverageJoesCredit Thank you for your recommendation! I'm leaning heavily towards NFCU FS.

@Anonymous Yes, I assumed as such. I performed a very quick search, nothing too extensive and read those threads of declines with thick credit files. It's becoming clearer I should apply for the NFCU FS instead of the BofA/BOA PR.
Plus , FS is a beautiful card![]()
