amex 3x cli denied 😕

i must say i am a little butt hurt. i know nothing is guaranteed, but i thought i had a good chance of an increase and i was counting down the days until i was able to request the cli. i applied for and was approved for the hilton honors surpass on 4/6 with a sl of 6k. on june 7th i requested a cli to 18k. i got the "you'll be notified in 7-10 days" response. i received the letter today and the only reason for the denial was "relationship with amex too short" or something along those lines. they listed my score as 726, so no change from when i first applied. i guess i'll wait another few months and try again 🤷🏽‍♀️

Sorry for the denial. Wait 90 days and try again. A SL of 6k is pretty good IMO and don't worry it will grow!

91 days before you can be approved for a CLI after receiving a denial on any American Express card you have, 181 days before you can be approved for a CLI after receiving a CLI on any American Express card you have. Asking too soon does not reset the clock, nor does obtaining a new card or reallocating credit lines.

Sorry for your denial

Please note that Approvals UW criteria and CLI UW criteria are totally different. Just becuse you are approved with a xxx Fico score, doesnt guarentee you a CLI if your scores remain the same or even go up

I'm sorry for your denial.
I recentlyI was approved for BCE for 6k and was planning on requesting a cli after 61 days and now I decided to wait until 91 days, will update about my results.
