Without knowing any reasons that would have led them to take AA, it's difficult to give you guidance. However, the request will be a SP if they think you are eligible so you've got nothing to lose.  If they ask for access to your finances or to link your bank account, you may want to think twice.

What were the reasons for the AA? Does it still apply to your current situation?

If it was something as simple as a utilization issue on your Amex, as long as that is no longer the case you would probably be good for a CLI. Assuming of course the rest of your profile supports it. It's just a SP, go for it.
