hsbc was a $300 limit, now with fees its like $480

Honestly mine was alot more then that and they overlooked it..  Had a good reason though during recon, granted I was instant approved and was only reconning the starting limit to a higher one.  I think scores are your main issue and possibly alot of inquires... They don't like seeing alot of inquires and new accounts..  Just my take on it from my experience with them.. About to apply for another card with them and see what the results yield on a tougher card with them

I want to have 3 CC for now and then garden for 6-9 months to get all my history cleared up.

tried a 2nd time with the same result. Now I did get anxious and app'd for another Cap One card the "classic platinum" and was approved for $500 limit which is $200 more than my Cap One Quicksilver. I also emailed Cap One EO for a CLI for the Quicksilver card asking for $1000 increase(I have had the card since sept14). So from here I just need to pay off my Collection accounts and garden and then hopfully by june I will be close to or over 700 for all 3 scores.

Just my 2 cents here but I would take care of your charge offs before you seek new credit.
