reconned and the rep said he needed to escalate it to be reviewed and will get back to me within a week or 2. Is this usually good or bad news? have tons of inquiries, a few bofa cards with them, and been a customer since 2009

It could be a 50/50. Could have been flat out denied but they will have another team evaluate it to see what can be done.

As ddemari mentioned, it could go either way.  Typically, this is routed to a senior UW analyst or the management team since it will involve reactivating the application (i.e. hard coded decision).  If the denial stands, then it typically can be the final decision so all you can do is wait it until they finalize the re-review of your app.
