chase Freedom

Hi I am actually posting this for someone else but I want to help him get freedom card from chase so here is the profile of him.

Age 23

oldest credit card 3 years

currently open cap one $500 and credit union card $500 both non secured

close account $500 gas card

He has 3 medical bills in collection

I helped him reduced his usage on that two cards to 5% (we will wait for them to report, cuz we just paid them off like a week ago)

He has join account with me with chase, (I added him to one of my accounts about 6 months ago)

He has pre-approved from chase (website) for both freedom and slate

My personal banker (private client) said that he would help him to get freedom card (if that matters lol)

Once those cards bills/usage are down to 5% his score should look like 646, 664, 688 (we used myfico model)

I can use my income as his income since we live in a same house hold, I made over 100k a year. his own is about 15-20k

He has student loans about 20k

Hmm i dont know what else to say thats pretty much about it

oh no ohter baddies except those medical bills

I just need other people opnions before I tell him to go ahead and apply

I would appreciate greatly for any input

Thank you all!

Re: chase Freedom

From what it sounds like, I think he should go to a branch and apply. If that doesn't work out, he should do recon a few times and go from there, especially if they ask him about those medical bills.

Re: chase Freedom

Unless you file your taxes together or are married or partners etc., you can't use your income on his application.  Well you can, but if they actually ask for proof and you don't meet the criteria stated prior then most likely that account will get closed.  If he is already prequaled why not jut use HIS/HER income.   Might not get as good as credit line, but ya living in the same household if you don't meet the above criteria doesn't count as "household" income.

Re: chase Freedom

Thanks for the inputs, yea we dont want huge credit line or anything like that, I just want him to get establish credit line with chase. I guess we will just use his income on the application which is totally fine with us or for credit line. Even if its only 500, we are ok with it.
