Welcome to MyFICO

Getting CC approvals is more than just your scores. It depends on many factors, which I've listed below:

  • Are there any collections, judgements, or repossession on your report?
  • Are there any 30-day, 60-day, 90-day lates on your report?
  • Is there a BK on your account?
  • As someone else noted, do you presently have CC accounts on your report?
  • If you do have other loans or CCs, what is your utization across the board and also on an individual card or loan?
  • How many inqs on your report?
  • Last, but not least, where are you getting your scores? If they're not FICO scores, they are not dependable.

So, as you see, there are many, many factors that affect one's overall credit profile.

Re: credit card approval

Thanks for your response ,I've never had a cc before. As of now my ex-606 ,tu-617,experian-647 .I have 1 inquiry .2collections that were stated as charge-off but were not .They were paid in full. I have a long ways to go but I'm proud of my progress from the low 400's to where I'm at.

Re: credit card approval

1. Where’d you previously apply (Re: 1 inquiry)?
2. Have you considered disputing your collection accounts if they are reporting the wrong status?

Lets start with an easy question. What reasons were you given in the denial letters you received?
