Decided to check a few cards which have no set timeframe for CLI's today, and CapitalOne QS has been stuck at 9k for about 1.5 years - always denied since the 2nd CLI for lack of use.
I haven't used it since I think January this year (so 4-5 months) but figured what the hey... it actually came back with an increase offer!
....of $750 more, so $9750 total.
I passed. Anectodal evidence here suggests that if you reject an offer and check again a bit later the CLI amount will be higher - can anyone attest to that happening recently?
While I have no use for this card anymore, $750 CLI does seem a bit of a joke when the first two were 3k each.

They did that with me... A month later, they gave me a much larger CLI... Wait til next month and try it again!
Hey...good luck...I hope you get a higher offer. Please update this thread if they do. I am due on the 8th of June...I would like to know if this theory worked for you...thanks..![]()
I was offered a $100 CLI...but then again my profile is far thinner than your's ![]()
If you aren't using the card what incentive does Cap1 to offer you a higher one? I would of taken it and ran .
Good luck..... You'll need it. CapOne is weird.
I don't think they are being weird, I think they are making decisions based on business. No more are the days of handing out cli like candy just because you ring the doorbell. They don't want tricks (CL for padding), they want treats (CL being used and paid accordingly). 😂
Perhaps their $750 CLI offer was an attempt to find a happy medium between no CLI again and a strong CLI in hope that it could give you a different view of the card, perhaps picking it back up and starting to use it again.
My personal experience with CO has always been no CLIs unless I'm using their card heavily. And, since I have no need or desire to use their products heavily, I always get denied for not using my existing credit limit enough. My only CO card has been in the SD for a while now.
