i'm a member with navy federal for 3 yrs and have CashRewards card for 2 years. have checking, saving, money market accounts and recently opened pledge loan...checking account is my primary and daily-user account. applied for their flagship card, auto denied, received letter saying- i dont qualify for the minimum amount for this card. but i have $43,000 limit on CashRewards card which started out $16k 2-3 years ago. W dont understand when they can give me $43k on one of their another card then how i am not qualified even for minimum amount required for the flagship? Used to hv internal score with navy federal 410 but now 267, dont know why..i show more activities now than before when my score was very high with them. Myficco score is 799. what are my options?
A- try to apply for another card like more rewards amex one or platinum, but i dont know if i could apply right now since denial is too recent?
B- move some of cl from CashRewards to open flagship if its possible.??..if it's done, would i be able to ask cli on flagship like i do on my CashRewards and be able to get all the benefits of flagship card like global entry fess, etc?
C- is it worth getting platinum card when there is any sub right now and im interested to do any bt as of now?
If $43K is at or very close to the maximum total of unsecured credit they are willing to extend to you they won't approve a Flagship.
Have yout taken on a lot of debt recently (what roughly is your current DTI?), deferred any loans, or otherwise have some major changes? A FICO score of 799 infers a clean file but something triggered the drop in internal score.
NFCU won't reallocate credit limit between cards.
Given your previous interest in the Flagship, why the sudden interest in the Platinum? Those 2 cards are on opposite ends of the spectrum insofar as NFCU's product offerings.

$43k i got in 3 yrs thru cli..dti is 1%...no loan except pledge loan recently..so any major change..dont know what made to change internal score but maybe its because i showed no action at all to my money market account and saving account at all..not enough use of my CashRewards card as well..but they said that i dont qualify for even minimum cl required for this card but on other side just last night they issued $8k cli on my other cc which brings to $43k...i was looking to have flagship just for the sub and global entry fee, and after a year i plan to do product change that card anyway. Platinum offers no sub, but this is the card iam interested in the future, so why not now. Since flagship is no no now, i thought this one than without any coz im close to max on CashRewards...and need another card very badly to hv full exposure...i requested reconsideration on flagship app last night, within 3 hours it got denied again in the middle of night..they also mentioned me acquiring a lots of cc in 24 months...i got 7 cards 27 months ago and not within 24 months ago..
has anyone noticed that navy federal doesn't hv any bonus on more rewards card-Amex one? Platinum never have had any bonus anyway...and flagship card that has bonus I am not eligible for it as I am already denied for it. What are my options as I do need another card very soon so that i could keep continue getting cli to achieve full exposure. I hv only CashRewards that has grown to $43k thru cli in last 2-3 yrs..as much as possible i dont want conversion to flagship card and left out bonus and right away pay af...and platinum also has no bonus...very much confused.

So now you DON'T want the Platinum, even though you were willing to settle for it a few days ago?
If you don't want to try for the Plat and they won't approve you for the Flagship, the only other options are another cashRewards, the GoRewards or the MoreRewards. That said, they may not approve ANY other card right now if you're at the max exposure they're willing to extend to you.

@Janneman- basically, there's your answer if you are still on the fence on pursuing additional NFCU cards in the short horizon.
Also, they will not move or allocate any CL from your existing account just to open Flagship. And, if you're not using your current cashRewards account, it's possible that NFCU sees that you have already sufficient exposure -- all things considered.
One option is you can PC your Cash Rewards to the Flagship and once your new accounts age a bit then apply for a new Cash Rewards card (Cash Rewards doesn't have the minimum SL like the Flagship).

i never said dat i will settle for platinum. i said dat eventually i would settle with it in the end after canceling flagship coz i dont want to pay af on flagship for nothing...i thought dat if im going to burn a hp den i better get some bonus with it. i might not get another chance to get anymore nf card coz im close 2 their max limit if i get one more their card, so i want to hv the opportunity to hv sub. but it seems i would need 2 settle with platinum anyway. Dis time more rewards hv no bonus otherwise this card always does. so we could get 2 of the same card, like i hv CashRewards and i can hv one more another cash reward??

just to correct myself- earlier when i said dat they also mentioned me acquiring a lots of cards in 24 months then i thought i was referring to other application for another card. Navy never gave me any reason except that im not qualified for the minimum amount required for flagship. thankyou

dat is what i was thinking even though i would be paying af right away for flagship but this will keep me away from another new inquiry n new account. thanku
