nfcu ...this uncertainty....

My dw applied thursday evening for the cashrewards card.... she received a call yesterday that they needed a copy of her ssn and DL .... no paystubs or nothing of that sort...
what could it mean????..could she be approved and they just need to verify her identity?...
She will be sending the copies later on today...

No experience with NFCU but I always figure if any CC issuer is asking for identity items then it's just a verification thing. If they didn't want to give your wife a card they wouldn't waste time with these other steps.  I read a lot on these forums and I don't read a whole lot about people having to verify their identity for a decline. Just my personal observation

Re: nfcu ...this uncertainty....

Verification... Funny thing is most 10 year olds dont have DL or GOV IDs. Good quick way to make sure someone isnt trying to open a card for someone else. Sadly parents do this with their kids info.

Verification is something NFCU takes very serious.

Most likely approved, however I was not under the same circumstances.

Re: nfcu ...this uncertainty....

Hasn't happened to me yet with any credit card I've applied to.

I'm sure you are approved, they're just in need to verify things. Maybe entered something wrong? Limited credit history?
