of the 3..which is best choice?

I am wondering who is less strict about 2~~~ 6yr old paid charge offs. I am getting solid apr mailers from citi and discover and I am pre qualified for Chase Freedom or Slate. I would take Slate.

2 inquirys over 14mo old.

My scores are 700 range utl will be 30% or less by time I even think Of applying, Just wondering who is more apt to look past the 2 charge offs.

Those are very different cards, why the slate?  It is only good for BT if that is what you are looking for.

Re: of the 3..which is best choice?

I have cash back cards, I dont fly, I have cap 1 for balance transfers but at 24.99 same as a purchase, a BT card would be nice.

Each card has its perks and plus's. Some are more conservative than others. Thats why I was asking.

If you do not have a DoubleCash card, that is one of my personal favorites.  I use amex BCP for gas/groceries, CSP for travel/restaurants, and the DC for everything else.  It's a good card to fill in the category gaps.

Re: of the 3..which is best choice?

Which Citi card are the mailers for? The Freedom offers 0% APR on BTs for 15 months, so keep that in mind. I've heard quite a few people say they always get BT offers on their Discover cards. Also, I have noticed that if I have a 0 balnce on any of my Capital One cards, they send me BT offers. I keep getting 0% APR for 18 months with a 2% BT fee on one card, and I got a few 0% APR for 12 months with 3% BT fee on my Venture. But only when I hadn't used the cards for a few months and they were at 0 balance, although YMMV. So your Cap1 cards could turn into good BT cards. Sorry, I can't help you pick between the 3 cards, because if it were me I would want all 3 of them Smiley Wink

Re: of the 3..which is best choice?

I just went through the same process. I was not interested in the Slate though. I ended up with the Citi DC, very good starting limit. I cannot comment on the baddies but they do not appear to be ing sensative - if that helps. Plus the SL was generous.

Good Luck

Then I would go for the Double Cash. Take the lower APR offer.

Re: of the 3..which is best choice?

I like my Slate card. In addition to the intro BT offer, it regularly has BT offers available when I’m not currently taking advantage of a BT offer. If you might need to make some BTs over the next year or so and the 3% fee for 0% APR suits you, it is a serious contender. The Discover It, Citi Double Cash, and Chase Freedom are all good if you want a rewards card that has an introductory BT offer. But if you just want a BT card that regularly has BT offers after the introductory offer ends, Slate might be for you. I have heard that some Citi cards regularly have BT offers beyond the introductory offer, but someone else would have to confirm that.

Edit: My Slate card does not like me. No CLI in the ten years I have had the card. I appear to be the oddity and not the norm, however.
