So I have tried several times to get the SCT to work for Williams Sonoma with no luck. Got back from vacation today and found a pre-approval letter from Comenity ... went online and was pre-approved for 1500 SL so was pretty happy.
The question is what happens when the card is acquired by Capital 1 since I'm on their blacklist. Would they close it down? Being capital one, I'm guessing I probably won't get any CLIs ... ever... but just curious whether this could be a foot back in the door to cap 1 ... or if they will slam the door closed on said foot!
Don't know if account would transfer or not, someone else might know better than myself. Cap1 doesn't have a blacklist that I know about other then if you burnt them you can't get a card for a year from what I remember has it been over a year since you burnt them?
I agree with @CreditCuriosity out of all the banks Cap one is the one who does not BL.
Numerous posters have gotten them fresh out ok BK when they were included . While YMMV I have found them to just not like some peoples profiles. Every now and then I will try the prequalify just for fun and they offer me a secured card😳yeah ok .
I had a few unpaid capital one accounts from about 10 years ago. I have not been able to get any cap one cards at all since. Even with my scores now that are 790-810. I had a Walmart card with synchrony before it switched over with just a $200 cl and figured capital one would close the account but it's still open. Still has a $200 cl too despite requesting increases. I'm assuming when my WS visa card switches over it will hopefully be the same and remain open although I don't really need the card anyways. I did just request a CLI on it and got another $1500 to a cl of $3800.

Thanks for the useful datapoint! I'm hoping I can score a CLI before Cap1 takes over. If they are like Overstock, hopefully, I can at the 60-day mark before Cap1 takes over.
My "blacklisting" is because I had bounced checks to Cap1 in 2019... since then, whenever I have tried to do a pre-qual for a retail card (I miss my Menards card), I always get the reason "unable to approve due to previous unsatisfactory relationship" (or some such thing). They have always been made whole but the unforgiveable since is bouncing checks (for which I accept responsibility... however I would like to be forgiven!)
I say that you're ok. Cap1 is very forgiving.
