recon barclays cl without hp?

i just got my uber card a few days ago and the limit is a bit low, i called the recon number for credit analyst and asked them if i could adjust the limit with no hp and they told me another hp is required, no exceptions.

i've seen lots of people say they got it done with no hp. any tips for how to do it or which specific number to call that gives the best success?

My guess is your waited to longer after approval to call vs within the day or shortly there after.  Are you sure you called the UW # as well vs just normal CSR #.. I never have had issues with recons with them to get higher SLs if it didnt meet my need including the uber card

there's 2 numbers listed for them on the backdoor# thread:

Barlcays: 866-408-4064 (credit analyst MAY have limited hours)

Barclays: 866-205-5973 (credit analyst 24 hours)

i called the first one, and i asked if they'd do it with no hp before i even told them who i was. so unless they saw who i am with callerID it was just them saying the standard policy.

Worse case scenario if you call again, and if the same information is relayed, then that's your prerogative on whether you would pursue it. They typically keep notes from each call though.

Do you anticipate going over or close to the CL frequently?

i just called the 2nd number and they said they used to let you recon without a new hp but not anymore.

very frustrating. i was seeing recent threads of people saying they were able to do this.

Well their rules, right? Decent SL if you ask me based on what's listed for your profile. Just be grateful you weren't approved for their lowest ($500), which would make it more challenging to grow.

But hey, at $2,500, I wouldn't look at a gift horse in the mouth.

yeah my history is short so it's a crapshoot what limit i'll get. they'd recon the limit now but it's not worth a hp.

i was hoping for something closer to 10k on it, if i got a cap1 card they'd have done 5k - 10k because venture is guaranteed 5k min. i got 6k on my amex last month and it's due next week for up to a 3x cli to 18k. creditOne is offering me a guaranteed limit of $2500 in their junkmail and that's what i got approved for on the uber card. so i know i should have gotten a better limit out of them than a subprime predator lender, but their computer is crazy handing out $500 limits so at least i dodged that bullet.

I have read the same and have had the Aviator card for 8 mo thought id see a auto CLI nothing, so I called the number as you did and they refuse to review account or use sp at all.. Id like to know who you can speak to about a CLI W/O a Hp...

called again and was told this is a brand new policy they just rolled out a few days ago. they said even asking for a supervisor won't let me override the new policy. in the past they were allowed to recon the brand new accounts with just a sp and the old hp.

ironchef in the past you could wait 3 months and then call and ask if you had a sp cli offer waiting for you. i don't know if they still let you do that since these banks keep on changing the rules. its like musical chairs.
