Re: seeking advice

Welcome!  Before we give any advice, it would help if you could give us a little more info:

1. Is this a fresh start (for example right out of college) or a rebuild (i.e. from a bankruptcy)?

2. What are your credit scores?

3. Do you have any other cards besides your CU secured card, and how long have you had it?

Re: seeking advice

Never had a cc before in my life...I've always believe on cash is king!! But, now that im older i see things different. Credit union visa since august - also have a loan with them to establish payment history. I was approved for a cap1 sec mc 3 weeks ago. No BK, No student loans no car loans on the past, always paid cash. According to CK i have to baddies wich are medical bills from 2012 that im not sure about, but im not going to dispute. They say my score is lil below 600, therefor i thought opening another account will help me. Based on this forum bofa is a good institution to get in the door with ...and my other choice would be ussa amex secured. ( because Of the fact that i can get my security deposit back)

Re: seeking advice

The BOA secured is an excellent choice. Treat them right, and they will return the favor by graduating the card and growing the limit over time.
