this might be a silly question but i will ask it any way.
my amex bce opened 12/21/2016 so today is 61 days
it as a 1k limit so of course i want to increase it
when i log in and got to account services then to increase limit i get a screen that asks me how much of an increase i want and what my income is.
i had the impression that for the SP CLI that it was just something like a submit button unless you wantd to ask for a higher limit.
am i misunderstanding this? is it still a soft pull?
thanks
Its a soft pull and ask for 3k. They will either give it to you, counter or decline. Good luck!!

went ahead and did ir...got 7-10 day message
guess i will have to wait for their letter to show up...dang! was hoping for good news
7-10 means they're looking at it instead of instant. Plenty of people have gotten it in the past and turned out later in the day it was approved or countered. Just check your account periodically for a change.
Doesn't mean a denial!!
Hoping you get good news.
austinguy,
while I know that is accurate I am just like everyone else who gets that message and feel apprehension and a bit disappointed. I honestly hate to wait, and would prefer a flat out rejection than to be told to hold my breath and wait. LOL..it is a character flaw I guess....or just a visceral rejection of an aspect of military career where "hurry up and wait" was the norm.
I do appreciate your post, sadly it just doesn't alter my feelings... I will keep checking throughout the weekend and will hopefully be able to report that they approved the CLI.
One of my apprehensions is that I am going through the bounce of having gained new credit and used it. So for example AMEX reported to EXP that I had a balance of 611.37 when in fact on the statement cut date I only owed 300.00 which is now paid. I have a zero balance today. My payments to them have been PIF twice a month before statement cut in Jan, then 1 PIF in feb, then 311 against 611. My EXP score has dropped temporarily to 688 with the addition of the CSP and Cap 1 cards and having to use the Citi Visa and USAA for my recent & sudden moving expenses.
My DTI as of today is 27.86% overall, but on the CSP and Citi the pectange is over 30%
anyway, I will keep waiting and try not to check Amex more than once an hour LOL
Thanks
Mike
MrsCHX,

Mike

Good luck! Maybe you'll be plesantly surprised next time you log on and have a higher limit!
