1ST NPSL - Journey Complete :) :)

Hope everyone is doing as well as they can be. Smiley Happy

Finally decided to give myself a treat with the unforeseen last Experian inquiry dropping from my CR. It's early by about 8 months, go figure and no complaints.

Since I am pretty much "good to go" as far as how I've balanced out my cards to reap the most benefits, the only one missing was an NPSL account. Why not? AMEX and I have had a good relationship and I'm about to test that. LOLOL.

First tried the pre-qual, just to see what it says of anything, and of course spits out the flavor of the month. Still proceeded with the PRG app, got instant approval.

I guess this completes my "journeys" back into the game - this is proof it's all easy-street and pure "keep doing what you've learned" from here on out. As I have in my siggy, NONE of this would ever have been possible without MF and the wonderful people here.

We're all here for a common goal and here to help as much as we can. Thanks again to everyone for all you've done for me I'm tweaking my profiles after clearing up some problem areas. Being "back" is a good feeling - and we all have a right to be happy with this sense of accomplishment. It is, in reality, an accomplishment. Never having to worry about the best interest rate for the next car? Who has the ability to say that other than one who has an awesome credit profile. All it takes is dedication and time - and a little help from the fine folks at MF!!

So there ya have it - from 2012 - now, finally have an NPSL to complete my journey.... Probably could have done it sooner but that is okay - having this happen right around the 3-year anniversary mark makes it that much better!!!!

Have a great one my MF friends and thank you all once again! Smiley Happy

Re: 1ST NPSL - Journey Complete :) :)

I just got a NPSL Amex Gold too ... what exactly does that mean???  And, how do they repoort it?  Does that mean I can go buy a car with it, or do they do a SP every time I use it and decide whether to approve the charge on the spot?  I'm a bit confused ...

Well, I suppose you could purchase a car on an Amex charge card, and it's been done before, but only if your profile and income support it. And not they they necessarily do an SP every time you try to use it, but they do analyze every charge and approve/deny in real time. NPSL doesn't mean there is no limit; it means your limit can fluctuate depending on income changes, spending and payment patterns "and other factors." You can check how much you can charge all at once on your online account by hitting the "check spending ability" button.

As for how it reports, I'm not entirely sure, as I just got my first charge card with Amex. But I believe it reports with a $0 limit and reports your balance every month to the CRAs.
