Whoa! After dithering about it for a while, and reading a ton of stuff about the likelihood of Discover requiring a HP for a CLI request, I went ahead and did it... and they offered me a $4,500 increase, from $6,000 to $10,500! I'll know for sure tomorrow if it was a SP or HP, but since the site specifically said they'd request another approval before doing a HP, it looks like it was soft-pull only. I don't need the increase for anything specific right now, but I'm kind of excited about my first credit limit over $10k, and I'm hoping that helps get me some solid starting lines on new apps going forward. Hooray for Discover!
Oops--thought that's what I was doing, that's what I get for having multiple tabs open.
Been noticing this a lot with peeps that have a fairly strong TU.
Do you know yours?
Congrats! on the very nice CLI!
Thanks! TU is 765 as of 10/11.
More datapoints: this card started at $5,000 13 months ago, auto-CLI to $5,500 at 6 months and again to $6,000 at 9 months. I was hoping for/expecting another auto-CLI at 12 months, but then again my use has seriously decreased recently since the 5% bonus categories haven't matched up well with my spending. My TU has gone down about 30 points since opening the card (I blame decreased AAoA), but I also had a very thin file at that point.
Very nice! Congrats 🎉🎈
Thanks again for sharing.
One BIG data point we keep seeing over and over again as mentioned is that Discover seems is really bolstering up nice CLI's even better on strong TU scores.
