654 FICO....any good cards I apply for?

Haven't had any negative things in 3 years....income is $175k/year.....have an Applied Bank $750 secured card (had that for about 2.5 years now). My score is a result of some very small collections ($100 or so) several years ago and some issues with my student loans during the same time. I've paid back several hundred thousand dollars in car loans over the last 7 years....but I don't know there is a lot I can do to raise my scores with the exception of waiting until the late payments come off.

I'm 651 EQ, 658 TU, and 639 EXP.

Any CC's I can apply for? I'm not military....so I know NFCU is out. Thanks.

Re: 654 FICO....any good cards I apply for?

Am I being greedy by applying for another card tonight? Shall I garden? I tried the Cap1 pre-approval site and it said it couldn't match me up with any cards. Went to Chase pre-qual site and I prequalified for the Freedom (but haven't applied yet).

No not greedy at all!!  If you are pre-qualified for the freedom on the site that is a 99% accurate approval!  Please do youself a favor and APPLY for it...  Spend 500 and get 200 back in the first 3 months.  Let me know if it is instant approval or need more processing if need more processing I will do a follow-up message..  After the freedom I would also cold apply for a Cap1, depending on how agressive you want to be.. with your salary you can very well support mutiple cards and you want all your Inquires to age at teh same time so they fall off at the same time if that makes sense!  Let me know how the pre-qual goes on the freedom also use the link it provides!

NICE! Chase Freedom approved for $6k! This is kind of fun, haha! Like I said, I tried the cold cap1 and it said it couldn't match me up to any offers....not sure if that's a denial or what...

One more quick question (and thanks again for your help....seriously), think I should close the secured card and transfer the balance? I've had it for 2.5 years and it's $10/month fees. I figure it's my longest running card....but it's secured, so it might not be much help now that I have these other two.

Awesome another 6k creditSmiley Happy isnt this easy lol...   Those two cards alone will help your score over time, you will take a small hit most likely intiallly due to the credit puls, but those are gone completly in a year, being that impact on your score...  Anyways, did you apply for Cap1?  If you haven't and want to push it a bit more, not talking about the pre-qualify link I would apply for the Quick Silver One with the 39 AF if I were you 1,5% cash back... You might only get a 300 CL or you might get a 3000k CL, depends if you want or need more credit, but you can get a bad credit ine or a decent credit ine and a good reward structure... It is up to you if you got enough new credit tonight?

Congrats on your two approvals though!

Re: 654 FICO....any good cards I apply for?

You probably will get approved for the Chase Freedom if you were preapproved on their website (and if you do get approved, you also have a chance at applying for another Chase card, like the Chase AARP, and only taking one HP.)

Your score is a bit below average for Discover It, but I have seen approval with less. If Discover doesn't satisfy your itch, perhaps BOA Better Balance Rewards? That is probably the most underrated card out there, and if you are rejected, BOA is one of the better banks with recons.

EDIT: And while I was typing this, you got approved for the Freedom, lol. That's a nice starting limit.  For the record, with the above post, I don't mean to condone wanton apping in an extravagant fashion, but if you have the itch, sometimes you just have to scratch it! Believe me I know. But if you gardened, that would probably be wiser, lol.
