Re: A Few SP Approvals (AmEx & Citi)

Was your available balance on the BCP still $34k AFTER the CLI approval on the Magnet? If so great job! I'm asking b/c I found it weird they wanted a 4506-T at first---they gave you a CLI w/o one of a different card.

I'm asking for my 181 day CLI next week but I'm only going to ask on my BCE---because I know if I ask on any of my other revolvers that's the one they'll rob my CL from--and I'd rather have a denial before that happens--again.

Is there a list of companies that only do SP to do cli's?

Thanks All!

@RedTab78 - I don't know if there is a list but I know about the banks I'm with

Soft Pulls:

  • NFCU (up to $25k after an AR) - once every 6 months
  • American Express - one card out of all cards every 6 months, no HP option if trying to do multiple cards
  • BofA - as of recently these seem to be SP, although verbiage online says "credit report could be pulled"
  • Citi - if verbiage supports it; sometimes says "credit report will be obtained" and other times it says "will not be pulled"; if SP you can hit all your cards at one time and they all tend to be approved at same time
  • US Bank - from what I've heard if you call over the phone and up to $1,500; Visa Signature cards require you to call in
  • FNBO - if you call over the phone; if you initiate online it will be a HP
  • Synchrony - if you call credit solutions over the phone; never tried online request

Hard Pulls:

  • Navy for any card request beyond $25k
  • Chase - have received auto CLI, but if you ask for it and you're not moving limits between cards it is usually HP and not worth the pull
  • PenFed - if you request it; sometimes during quarterly offers you can get one via SP but it must be offered to you first
  • USAA - always a HP; you can request a CLI for multiple cards in the same day and they will be merged
  • US Bank - if submitted online, expect a HP

Unsure:

  • Fifth-Third bank - never asked for one and never been offered auto-CLI; I've never seen an option to request online

This is a YMMV situation, but this is definitely my experience with these banks over the years. Hope this helps

This is what I thought might happen as well. Its happened with BofA but I just checked again and both are intact. BCP sitting at $34,000 and Magnet sitting at $15,000 so seems alright so far.

NFCU is always a hard pull unless you get lucky and it’s right after an AR.

I have so many HPs from NFCU right now it’s obscene...

Capital One is a SP as well.

Re: A Few SP Approvals (AmEx & Citi)

Wow! I’m absurdly jealous of that Citi DC CLI. Mine sits at $3,700 and I’m hoping I’ll be able to get it up eventually... I use it for everything. Granted, I’ve had it for less than 6 months lol

Congrats on all those CLIs!
