With my AMEX Platinum AF due in Feb and this being the first year since I have had the card that I am losing on the AF with no travel this year, I was thinking of downgrading to the Green Card (already have the Gold). Noticed that I was preapproved for a Green AMEX with a 45,000 points after $2k spend in 3 months, which would not be a problem. Pulled the trigger. With all my other AMEX instant approvals, I was concerned that I received the notice of review with the possiblity of more info needed. Rather than calling, I checked the online approval status with the same result. Received an email this morning that I had been approved.
