I posted the other day trying to decide if I should apply for the AMEX BCE because I had a preapproval for it that came in the mail, but no pre-approvals for it online just for the charge cards. Today when I checked the pre-approval site I didn't have any pre-approval offers at all so I had basically decided it wasn't meant to be, and then after reading throught these forums a little more I decided what the heck, I'll just go for it and if I get it awesome and if not I'll try again later this year or next. I used the invitation code on my letter to apply.
It seemed like it took forever for it to process, but it finally went through and I got approved for a $2,000 starting limit! It's lower than my other card limits (just got approved for a Discover It with $5,500 SL and I've had a Citi Forward for a while that is at $6,050) but it's definitely better than nothing and I guess not too bad for my first AMEX! I've read about the 3x CLI so hopefully I have luck with that in the somewhat near future!
