Good morning!
I recently was supposed to be gardening. I got a Barclay's at $1,900 in October, and decided to garden. But the allure of the Discover It was too much for me, and I decided to apply. I was approved for $7,500 (my highest limit ever by far) and I was stoked! So I decided to garden.
Turns out one of the worst things I can do as a gardener is to continue to come to this website.
So I came across this thread and I saw the OP apply for and get approved for a Discover It and then a BCE, and I got (playfully) jealous. So I decided that I was going to apply for the BCE to lock in my MSD of 2013. Yes, that reason alone was enough to convince myself to apply, even though I knew I was supposed to be gardening and that I had no business applying for another card, much less an AMEX.
So I applied, not thinking that I would get approved with 4 baddies still lurking on my Experian report along with 4 inquiries and utilization at 37%, but lo and behold, I was approved!
They pulled EX (as usual.) My FICO was 672. Limit of $2,000 at 20.99%. Low limit, high APR, I know, but as usual, I don't plan on carrying a balance, and I do plan on going for 3X CLI twice over the course of the next 8 months. By 61 days from now, 1 or more of the baddies will have fallen off and my utilization should be below 20% (as my $7,500 Discover hasn't reported yet) so with a SP they should see that. By 180 days from then, my report should be 100% clean with >9% util, so I should be gold for another 3X CLI!
Wish me luck!
Congrats! My amex BCE is my favorite card. They have the best website, app, and customer service of any of my cards. It's an awesome card to have. And the frequent and large CLI's are super nice.
Congrats! Thanks for sharing.
Nice!! Congratulations!
I thought amex pulled EQ??
Congrats
Thanks to all!

I WISH they pulled EQ. I have a higher score, 1 less baddie, and only 1 inq on that report!
Congrats!!! I thought I would be denied as well because I have a CO currently reporting from 2005, especially since the app was in progess for 6 days online.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but shouldn't anything from 7+ years ago be off your reports? Or do you happen to live in a state that has a 10 year SOL?
