AMEX BCP Approval but only $2k?

Interesting...As someone posted the new AMEX approval before HP link.

I said why not...My score is now 741. I have AMEX Bonvoy $15k limit and use it every day and PIF since March.

My reports were still locked.

I got a whopping $2k limit.

Is that because the Marriott is co-branded and the BCP is only AMEX?

Maybe because my BK7 is still there from 7 years ago?

I got $1000 couple months ago. And it will stay there with no CLI's until the BK falls off in 2025.

Re: AMEX BCP Approval but only $2k?

Congrats on the BCP approval!

As awesome as they are, Amex is weird sometimes. When I got my BCP they gave me a baby limit as well. I've worked up up to $15k with relative ease, going for the 3x to $35k next month.

i was a little surprised with it, I had other trade lines over $15k and on my AMEX Plat I was spending about $15-$20k per month and PIF each time. I know it wasn't a revolver, but though it might sway them to give me a better limit. It didn't 😂

Congrats on the approval!

Sounds like AMEX doesn't want to extend you any more credit right now, BK7 is probably holding you back with them. When the time comes ask for the x3 CLI and see what happens.

Re: AMEX BCP Approval but only $2k?

Join me in playing the waiting game. They approved me with a 1k SL a few months back with CLI denial at 61 days. I will try again at 6 months and hope for the best. I think we just need to be thankful they atleast let us in the door - now we just need to show them we can behave.

I can tell Amex is still testing me to see if my money management has improved (which it has) - now I just need to prove it to them. They have my POT a bit low, my SL was low, and my internal limit with them on the NPSL is also low but thats how the game goes - I need to earn their trust again. My BCP is PIF before statement date and my NPSL cards are also PIF with the POT deactivated so I hope by years end they trust me a bit more.

Congrats on the AMEX BCP approval. Agreed with @Lou-natic. What transpires after 61 days when you ask for a 3X CLI will be a good indicator on where you stand with AMEX. With responsible usage on the BCP I'm sure your limit will increase.
