So over the weekend I was approved for a AMEX Delta Reserve.
Backstory: I went through a nasty divorce back back in 2012 with AMEX closing my account with a balance of $1,700 on it and failed to pay it. As of 2022 i started to fix my credit and my score at the time was 540, very sad time in my life and wasn't aware of AMEX blacklist. Move forward to this year where I have a clean slate with a score of 770, I tried applying for the Platinum card and was denied but without a HP in September. In the same month I applied for the NFCU Flagship card since I bank with them and was approved for $25K. Now to last weekend when I went to AMEX pre-approval page to see if anyting comes up and to my surprise it showed all Delta and Hilton cards for approval, I hesitated since through the years i never saw anything pop up, so i tried 3 different times to make sure it wasn't a mistake and the offered popped up everytime, so i decided to go with the Delta Reserve with a sign offer of 125K miles and $15,000 MQD if I spend $6K in 3 months.
So I have 2 question:

So I have 2 question:
- am I still on the blacklist?
- Will I be offered the Amex Platinum card again?
If you were approved then you aren't blacklisted. What was your SL and did you incur a HP?
It was low, but I'm very appreciative and humbled with my $4K SLand I did get hit with a HP and lost 8 points, but well worth it.

Thank you for the DPs and congratulations on your Amex approval!

Congrats on the approval OP.
As mentioned upthread, if you passed the sniff test with a HP and were approved, then you're no longer on the internal BL for new products. CLIs could have mixed results if they reference past account relationship, but it's YEMV until you request one (typically eligible after 180+ days from approval).
I wonder if it's the amount that you owe & since it's been 10 years, they're more forgiving. I've seen people blacklisted for decades, that's great they let you back in. Maybe they're going to monitor how you handle this card before opening an opportunity for the Platinum.

So I've read all the reddit and forums about the blacklist and it's all over the board. So now that i've been approved, I think they must of seen my NFCU flagship on my credit with the limit, becuase ever other time i've applied i didnt have that on there, thats the only think i can think of.
you're lucky I hear they have a long memory! Congrats!
That's crazy they denied you for the Platinum but approved me, weird how it all works sometimes. Congrats on the nice Reserve card.
Starting Score: 512

Congrats and as mentioned Yes you're now off the AmEx BL then. Just use and PIF the card you did get and continue the good work and you shouldn't have any issue getting the Platinum in a few months. It's actually a very easy card to get now a days, esp with the newer high $695 AF. While AmEx is and always has been about more than just scores, I know folks with 620 scores that got it. So just handle your new found relationship with them well and they will treat you well.
