I've been after an AMEX for years. I've applied, and have been denied instantly. Last night I checked the pre-qualification site and I was pre-qualified for the Delta Skymiles card, so I applied and I was approved. CL is $1000. Highest initial CL I've ever had.
My FICO score is 662, and my individual scores are very low. My credit utilization is very high on most of my cards. I was very surprised that I was approved...I'm not sure how, but I'm very thankful to now be a member of the AMEX community. I've worked for them in the past, and I love their card benefits.

They must be feeling generous over at Amex. I was approved last week for the delta gold also. Ex FICO 636 for me. Also 1k. Also my highest SL.
