About a month ago I applied for a AMEX PRG and was declined for too many new accounts. However, a week ago I got an email with an offer for 50,000 MR for $2,000 spend in the first 3 months. I was surprised they were giving me a targeted offer after declining me last month. I figured, why not try it out since AMEX only hits me with a SP for denials (being an existing cardholder). To my surprise, I was instantly approved!
Pretty excited about the 50k MR for $2k spend bonus. ![]()

Awesome! Congrats! I've had this card for 7 months now and it's pretty darn cool!
How do you value the MR points? I've heard people saying they get upwards of 2 cents per point. Others saying more realistically around 1.5.

Nice congrats
Thanks everyone! Got it in the mail on Monday after a Friday approval, they sent the card UPS express shipping. I guess they really want me to use their card! I love AMEX ![]()

Yeah, I've been perusing around the travel portal and it seems like it's pretty easy to get around 1.5 cents per point. Going to have to be crafty with transfer partners to get closer to 2 cents per point I think.
