AMEX TE

I wanted to apply for both the TE and BCP with one pull so called AMEX. The person I spoke with said it would result in 2 pulls, even if applied at the same time. Therefore, I applied via phone for a business TE as they give 4% on gas, this will be my gas card.  At the end their system went down and asked me to call back. Thinking it was the business end, I applied online for a BCP while waiting. Of course I got a reply to call in.

When I called they explained applying for a second before the first was completed caused a flag. Anyhow, her system was up and I got approved for TE. She said the BCP would take 4-5 days to run through the system. Apparently, if I waited until the first was completed it would have been completed just as quickly.

I've never been turned down for credit but also havent applied for a new CC in years, and was a little pessimistic as I don't know how strict they are. I have FICO EQ 719 and EX 741, (2) 30 day lates on Sears card 2 years ago and a 4 year old medical bill collection.

Re: AMEX TE

Congrats

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?

Congrats on approval for TE! You'll probably be approved for the BCE as well.
