Congrats to you, you should start seeing some good pre quals once you get above 650s.
I did the CreditKarma thing and it seems that within the next month or so once I activate my new lines of credit and they post, I should see a bump of about 80 points. This not including the bump once my Collections have dropped due to payment, and the disputes are resolved.

That's the way to do it! I had a USAA secured card for a few months and then I got approved by capital one for $300 as my first unsecured line. That card is now at $9300 (still shows that $300 lol) and is my second highest line.
Keep on going, you'll get there! Congrats!
Thank you. Nice work you've done there

Have no choice but to continue. I appreciate the kind words.
@Anonymous wrote:It isn't much for most, but it is for me. I've really been working on this credit thing for the past couple months.
So far, I've gone from 500-505 to 565-580
First card that actually welcomed me was the CitiCard secured card.
I've been trying every day to check Pre qual for other cards like Capital1 and bank of america.
I got a few things removed from my report.
I found out about the shopping cart trick and got a low rate card that everyone gets. Victoria Secret(still need a girlfriend to use that one lol)
Just checked pre-qual for Capital one and although its a very small one, I was pre approved for a secured card. $99 down for only a $200 limit but even better than I was getting just a day or so ago, which was nothing at all.
Thanks to all of you, things seem to be working out really well for me, and really fast. Cant wait to see if I get into NFCU and approved for credit there.
Congratulations to you!...Thanks for sharing.![]()

First, let me say your myFICO handle made me laugh! Good One. I wish I had picked something Quirky and Catchy!
2nd, let me congratulate you ...
3rd, in regards to Credit Karma my scores are much lower on the FAKO sites. Some people get higher but mine are lower.
Why? Because my closed accounts do not add to my AAOA Average Age of Accounts.. so I lose points. I love the freebie sites because they tell me if my scores are going up or down. I can look at what is on my credit report and I can dispute. So they are wonderful credit tools. But if you have not already .. get your FICO8 scores that most (not all but most) credit card companies use. They may actually be higher than the FAKO's like mine. Wouldn't that be great!
4th .. you getting closer to scores springing up up and away when those baddies fall off. So choose wisely. I think we all have cards we regret app'ing for... you can transcend that error. Bwahhh. But app with being educated. Google Credit Pulls Database ! This Database gives you some data points that you can use to optimize your app'ing for other cards.
Again Congratulations ..
Soon you will be in the 600's then on up to the 700's and beyond !
Woo Hoo!

Couldn't think of another name, so I figured why not go with my intentions? :-)
I appreciate the congrats. As far as the scores on KC, I am really only using them as a base as you stated to see when I have changes in scoring as well as my report.
The apps that I've applied for and denied, seem to show about a 10 point dip accross the CBs in comparison to what CK was reporting at the time(ie. CK would say my score was 585, I'd get denied for an app and the denial letter would show Im 575ish)

Much congrats on your rebuild(ing), OP. Slow and steady ALWAYS prevails.
As for the bolded above:
*Hit the gym
*Hit the dance floor Friday and Saturday nights (and make sure to SPEND money!)
These two ALWAYS work!
Don't be "afraid" of "rejections."
*If the lady says, "no" it's usually a "yes."
*If she says "maybe," it's a "yes."
And if she says "yes," it's definitely a "yes."
And if she says that she is either married or has a boyfriend, ask, "but, are you happy?" Don't give up too easy.
Again, congrats on your rebuild/approvals.

lol I have no problem with women, and Im definitely not a candidate of spending money to obtain one. was just a joke. I would need an official lady in my life before I start buying VS for one though. Not just ladies that I have fun with :-). Was never into being tied down to a single woman, but hey, I guess this credit thing teaches commitment
PS. Walmart always has amazing women. What woman doesn't go to walmart?
Thanks for the congrats
