Hey everyone, after getting over my fear of having too many credit cards and realizing I didn't even have a decent rewards card I decided to apply for some new cards.
I've been rebuilding my credit for the past coupole years from past mistakes, but finally broke mid to upper 600s. I only had 3 cards up to this point, one usaa card and two medium limit capital one cards that just had approved CLI (hence why I felt safe to apply for new cards).
I first applied for the Capital One Venture card for travel rewards as I travel alot for my job and have been using my regular cards to pay for things that get reimbursed. That was approved for $15k! I couldn't believe it, that almost tripled my current highest limit.
I then applied for a Chase Freedom card since I already had one hard pull, it approved and I then applied for a Chase Slate card, unfortunately I am waiting the 7-10 pending days.
Later I applied for the AmEX every day card and now I am done my app spree. I have doubled my current number of credit cards and my total available has increased by a huge limit.
Thank you for all the info you post here, it does indeed help the random passerby.

Way to go! I can't seem to get a Citi or Chase card to save my life, nor an Amex card through Amex themselves. I had to go through PenFed to get an Amex approved.
Congrats on the approvals.
Hate to be a Debbie Downer, but that 7-10 day message on the Slate is probably a denial. Chase seems to be getting very picky about giving out more than one card at a time. I had preapprovals for Freedom and Slate, but Slate was denied for too many recent approvals with Chase.
Give it 30 days and reapply if you absolutely want the Slate, but I don't think you need it. It's good for balance transfers, and that's about it. If you wait 6-7 months, you'll probably be preapproved for the Chase Sapphire Preferred - a much better overall card.
Congratulations! The Slate is probably pending verification. Give them a call. The same thing happened to me. I got approved for the Freedom then applied for the Slate and got the dreaded wait message.
Congrats on your success!
Congrats on your success! Gotta love Venture! ![]()
Congratulations! -you know they say good things come in threes- fingers crossed though!

Congrats!
Since you have USAA, are you able to get into NFCU? With you profile, I can only assume you'll be a shoe-in for a $25k cc as well as a 15k PLOC.
