Alaska Airline Credit Card platinum 40k sign up bonus

Hey everyone, so I was just approved for the Alaska Airline Credit card platinum.. not sure why not the Signature as my credit score is 730 Ex and my credit limits are all over 5k but anyways, from what I’m reading in my welcome packet with the card, I am still eligible for the 40k and companion pass after 2k spend. Anyone else reading it the same way I am? Please let me know!

I have the Visa Siggy and prev had the Plat card. Unless something has changed that I am not aware of you will not get the 40k bonus with the Plat card or the companion fare. The Plat card has its own bonus usually much less than the Siggy. You have to have a min CL of 5k to get the siggy. I would call BofA and see if they are willing to take a second look at your app. However if you get lucky and get the Siggy make sure that it comes with the bonus miles. BofA has been a tough sell as of late. Used to hand these cards out like candy. No more.

Sometime late last year, BofA updated the application terms for the AS card. Before that, if you got approved for the platinum version (under $5k SL), you wouldn't receive the advertised SUB or companion fare. The benefits used to be much different and not worth holding the card as platinum.

When I applied around May 2018, I was approved for the Platinum card, so I had to jump through a few hoops to convert it to Signature by moving limits from another card. Otherwise, I wasn't entitled to receive the SUB, companion fare or $100 statement credit. Fortunately, it all worked out in the end.

Now, everyone gets the same SUB and companion fare regardless of card version.
