I'd been on an App spree the past couple of weeks and one that was recently turned down was for Amazon. I realized when looking over my TU report that Chase is actually the card. I've got sort of a rocky relationship with Chase after closing a card that I opened in 1995 and closed in 2010. I paid off that balance about 6 months ago. I applied for a Chase Freedom card in March and was approved for $2,500. I asked for a recon and they bumped it to $5k. I've used it enough that I've purchased just over $500 to get the bonus, and I pay the card off every couple of weeks. My wife and I also have our mortgage with Chase too.
So I called Chase a few minutes ago to recon the Amazon rejection and she asked the usual questions about employment and income. One thing I learned a couple of days ago was I can include our "household" income and not just mine. So, that is combined into a significantly higher income number. Anyway, she put me on hold for a couple of minutes and came back and said congratulations, I've been approved for $2,000. I'm not really sure how much I'll use the card, but I hate facing rejection and waste a HP.
Edit: I just read the email from Amazon and got this bonus.....cool: We have credited $30 to your gift card balance in your Amazon.com account on April 25, 2015.

Congrats on your approval and good job on the recon
I applied for it a month ago and thought it was declined. Last week I got a email saying saying congratulations. Plus they gave me $70 credit. I was ecstatic.
