Well, after many years of wanting one, I finally got it. My credit has had a rough period but its healing. No baddies, payments on time for the past 4 years, and a good set of cards helping me grow with a low <5 % utl.
I finally decided to step out of the garden after being tempted. I promise this will be my last time stepping out for a whiiiiiile.
I did the app online, and got the "call for verification" message. After the rep had me verify informatin with my bank over the phone to verify my address, due to a fraud alert I placed, the lady came back with:
Rep: "Sir, if we were to approve you in the next 30 seconds after I process this information, how soon would you like your card?
Me: As soon as yesterday.
Rep: Congratulations, your new card will arrive by monday.
I almost dropped the phone.....its felt so good to finally get in the Amex family
