I am happy to report that today Amex approved my credit limit request! I decided since my starting limit was $10K that I wouldn't go for 3x my limit. I felt 2x my limit was plenty!
This is my 2nd attempt. I first tried for the same amount in July after having my card for 3 months and was denied. Reason given at the time, my Fico score was too low. My Fico score was technically 737 but the Fico score used was 708, it was a month old.
This time I made sure the Fico score on the Amex site matched what was displaying on MyFico, my current score of 732! I've now had my account for 6 months. The approval was instant this time thankfully!
