I was approved for the Amex EveryDay card last July, for 1K. Tried for the 61 day CLI, and was declined. Tried again 90 days later, declined again. Tried again in December, and again in March. Both declined as well. Hit my next 90 day mark yesterday - and was finally approved. Moved up to 3K.
I know the main problem is that I still have a 19K unpaid C/O showing, which recently started updating monthly after 4 years of no activity. I guess Amex needed to see about a year's worth of spending and payments to feel comfortable expanding their exposure to someone with that kind of baddie. Hopefully this means I'll be good to go in another 6 months - I'll share another update then.
