Hi all,
I'm very excited! I've been working on my rebuild for about a year and just got accepted for Amex BCE after checking my prequalified offers and it was on there. I was only approved for $1k SL but I'm just happy to be in the door
some might say I should've waiting but whatever... I'm ready to start building the relationship! I've never had an Amex before.
looks like theypulled TU & EX. My EQ fico is 679; EX fico is 669; and unsure of TU right now but I'm sure it's around the same of 670.
Time to cancel my horrible credit one before that AF starts to hit and head back to the garden a happy camper.
So now my lineup will be Cap1 Platinum(don't use much), Discover It, and Amex BCE
super happy to have come this far in only a year. Thanks all!!
Starting Score: 580sLooks like you're on the same path as i am. I started with a Cap1 Platinum Secured in May 2021. Next i got Chase, Discover, & Amex in that order.
Starting Score: 512Congrats, well done! You're certainly on the path of improvement, and glad you can kick Credit One to the curb.

congrats on your path to healthy credit - you have a nice starting lineup and with Amex in the mix it only gets better from here. BTW I like what you said focused on the relationship than the starting limit. I app'd for the Hilton Amex a few months back and stuck @ $2K SL but, the focus is on the long run and not the short view. ![]()
Congrats on your first AMEX card and welcome to the club! You will like the BCE.
I like the simplicity of it without having to remember too many spend stipulations.
3% cash back on groceries, gas, and retail - up to 6K per year, then 1% cash back. Things I buy anyways.
1% cash back for all other purchases. This covers everything else. Simple.

thank you! And thank you to everyone as well. Yes I'm definitely more focused on relationship building than current SL as in a few years this starting limit won't mean much anymore
thanks to this awesome community and all the great advice in here.

Agreed! Well said. I think I will prefer this over my Disco, I've realized im not a huge fan of the rotating categories; but the 5% is nice when applicable. However, I always will need gas in the car, and food on the table

Exactly! We have to buy those things anyway so might as well get cash back for it.
Congrats on the approval!
Congratulations on your Amex BCE approval!
