Filed a dispute with Keybank on my credit card for a merchant not refunding my money after a return (They requested me to return the item) for an item being damaged. Keybank denied my claim and refused to look any evidence I had (Which was a lot). Decided to stop using their card if they won't abide by the consumer protection under Reg Z.
So I needed another card that earned roughly 2% back... Don't want to apply for another Citicard... Not a big fan of PayPal... Or Credit Unions... Don't really want a hard pull.. Amex has been great to me so far, so I decided to go with the Cash Magnet for 1.5%. That means I'm losing the .5% difference I earned on my Keybank card, but I lost $600 because they don't want to do their jobs. Plus no hard pull since I already have a Blue Cash Preferred with them.
Upon hitting apply, I got a lovely message (Not really) stating I don't qualify for the 0% APR or the intro bonus because of my history with Amex. I've only had one card with them for close to 3 years, never closed a card and only claimed 2 bonus offers. Was kinda bum, but I continued with the application.
Was approved for a starting limit of $10,000 at 21.99% Starting limit isn't horrible, considering my limit on my BCP is $22,500 I'm certain I can grow it fast. Not happy with the APR at all, but I never carry a balance anyways.
UPDATE: Just found out that they reallocated $10,000 from my old card to the new one... Wasn't expecting that, utilization is going to be higher on my BCP now once it reports every month. I let the balance report, but still pay it off in full.
