Amex Delta Gold Approval

I applied for the Amex Gold Delta and was approved for $1000. Smaller than my Discover card but I am just thrilled to have been approved considering 6 months ago I could BARELY be approved for a secured card.

Anywho, anyone received a similar SL? What type of spend did you put on it and what has been your experience with this card in terms of growth? Seems like a great card for my family and I as we typically fly Delta anyways.

Input appreciated! You all are great! Seriously couldn’t have improved my credit situation without this forum.

That's a pretty common starter SL, I wouldn't worry too much about putting a high spend on it, just PIF what ever you do spend.
If it is your first AMEX card, give it about 6 months and apply for the 3x CLI.
I've had good success and the gold card grew for me over the years, I eventually PC'd it to the reserve and now sit with a 28K SL.

CONGRATS !!!    As everyone here seems to indicate, the starter limit is no worry. 
I know the feeling though, I got approved a couple of weeks ago for a GOLD card, and also a AMEX CASH MAGNET card with a $1000 SL, but I'm sure a couple months of good spending habits will see that SL increase. Like you, I was just happy to be approved.

That’s so awesome! Congratulations! Did you apply for the Cash Magnet at the same time as the gold? I was tempted to apply for the BCE but I knew the next cycle or two of reporting my scores would jump and my util would be down to about 1% across the board so I wanted to wait a bit hoping for a nicer SL like my Discover.

That app was the longest 1 minute of my life 🤣 I’m sure yours was the same!
