Amex Delta Gold Approved!

I've been thinking of getting my foot in the door with Amex for awhile and there were some really good deals for Delta flights yesterday so I decided I'd go for the Delta Gold with $200 statement credit + 40K points from Delta's website yesterday. Instant approval for $1K. I was hoping I wouldn't get the dreaded $1K starter limit, but given no prior relationship with Amex whatsoever, it was pretty much expected. 

Given my recent approval last month for the Discover IT with $7K SL, and after reading about some (very few) people requesting CLI immediately after approval or when the card arrives I wanted to see if you all could help shed some insight into this? 1) Will it extend the time I need to wait for the 61 day 3x request? Amex pulled Experian which is at a solid 660.  I'd like to request $3K now, as there's some more flights I'm looking at.

Congrats! It’s a great card! I got the 1K SL too with a 7K Disco. 😂 Mine might turn into a Delta Blue in a year so I can get a Delta Platinum though.

I would go ahead and try for the CLI. The last month or so, people have been getting lucky. I wish I knew.
