Just wanted to share my Amex approval stats for anyone in the same boat as me as well as everyone else. Approved for Amex Delta Gold less than 5 mins ago. FICO EXP: 640, 6 INQ (2 for Amex in 2020, 1 for Amex Gold denied and the other for Amex BCE denied) same **bleep** score. 1 medical collection in the amt of $1500 from 5 years ago but it keeps changing hands so it's opened time on it is whenever a new Co buys it which as of today was 07/20 on my EXP.
My current cards are as follows:
Cap one QS: $500, opened 2018 as a platinum.
Cap one QS One: $1500 - 2019.
CFU: $4300 - 2019.
DS IT: $2200 - 2019.
Amazon Prime Chase: $3k - 2020.
CFF: $1k - 2020.
GS Apple: $1500 - 2021.
Income - $80k (Rounded)

It sounds like you likely had a borderline approval for the Delta card. The Delta and Hilton family of cards typically have less stringent underwriting standards than their charge cards, which is probably why you were approved for the Delta after already being denied for the Gold with the same score. If it were me, I would show them a solid 6 months- 1 year of responsible use on your current card, and then start checking for pre-approved offers while logged in to your online portal. Congrats on getting in with AMEX, and good luck on your next swing at that Gold card! ![]()

Congratulations on your Amex approval
Congrats on the AMEX approval!

+1
I agree. Their Delta cards they have really loosened the UW on, so it is by far the easiest AMEX cards to get with low scores. If you weren't apprived at the same score for a gold card, I wouldn't expect that has changed right now.
What was the CL you were given for the Delta Card?
Plus, I would also try their pre-approvals instead of wasting inquiries with cold apping. I also believe that since you now have an AMEX account, you can check within your account if you have any offers/preapprovals.
Be patient and you will get your card when the time is right and they are more comfortable with you!
Realy quick, no matter how many CAs the CA goes through, the "opened date" does not matter. It never changes the DoFD (date of first delinquency). Seeing about resolving that collection would probably greatly help your profile and scores. You should look into PFD (pay for delete) for it.
Congratulations!
Congratulations on the Delta Gold approval!
Nice, grats on the Delta gold and welcome to myfico ![]()
