Amex Delta Reserve approved!!! 658 experian score!

I was messing around with the amex  preapproval and got the 100k offer for the amex delta reserve card and living in Austin thought this makes sense since that's one of the only lounges in the airport. It said it wouldn't hurt my score so I figured why not just see if i'm approved and so I filled it out and it asked for additional info and wanted me to connect my bank account. I have nothing to hide so I did and once I did that I was instantly approved with a $4.4k limit. I know it may not be a large limit but happy to get in with Amex on a revolving account, I only have the Platnium card with them.

I've had the platinum for 11 years and they still only charge me $550 af, i use the perks enough that i get more than that back. We will see with the delta card, i make pretty good money so im not worried about it. 

my credit profile is the way it is because of a lay off in 2018-2019 that had me out of work for over a year and had to make some choices on what to pay but only have about a year left until they fall off.

Nice and glad to hear. Pretty jealous you're still getting hit with the $550 fee. I only got a 1 year grace period at the old fee amount (and $175 for 3 AUs) so it hurt real bad when my wife and daughter's AU cards jumped to $195 each on top of the $695 fee haha.

Why not just use the platinum with the lounges available with that card? What was the appeal, besides perhaps the sign up bonus for it?
