Way to go! Great card and great CL, in 61 days you should get a nice CLI

Thanks so much, Discover!
I'm not counting on getting a CLI, but in any case I'm extremely pleased with $8k right from the start. My BCP was stuck at $1k for a year and a half, and even then they turned me down for a CLI (but gave me an auto-CLI), but that's OK... they're getting there now!
Sometimes you just have to be patient, I guess... LOL.
Thanks again!

Yea, 8k is a very usable and very prime CL. You can try for a CLI on March 25th, it doesn't have to go to 24k, even just 2X to 16k would be very sweet. On a related note, I can try for my 3x on my BCP in March too, I will aim for 3k to 9k and I will be happy with that, a 9k BCP would fit in very nicely to my card selection.

Yeah, I've got to do some planning to figure out the best way to move forward (assuming they are willing to increase any of my cards at all). Since it's the BCP that I actually 'use' I would prefer to get a bump on it, but I could also get a bump on the new ED and transfer some of that over to the BCP. Again, I've yet to ever have a CLI request approved (they always reference the account that was IIBK 17 years ago) but this one might be different... it's just a shame that if you strike out with one card you have to wait 90 days before you can try again with any of them... (first-world problems, right? LOL)
I'm just happy to be out of $1k 'purgatory'... when my Delta Gold was approved last summer for $1k I figured that was my 'number'; I actually had considered moving $500 from the Delta to the BCP to make it slightly more usable (that's before it got the CLI back in November). I never dreamed they would open a new account for me with an $8k credit line; I genuinely expected yet another $1k line, which would have been fine for Amex Offers and to store MR points. Since it actually got a usable credit line I'll have to give it a little more thought to make sure I'm maximizing the situation!
To further demonstrate how much things have changed, my BCP has an APR of 22.49%, the highest APR for that card. The new ED is at 16.49%, a full 6% lower. Of course I would never carry a balance on either of them (outside of the promo period) but it's still a good indicator of how they are starting to warm up to me a bit more.

Hmm, something occured to me, I wonder what would happen if you were to close the Delta and reapply later in the Spring/Summer? I wonder if they would offer you a nice prime CL like your ED.
Congrats B.
The best part is getting a card w/o a HP.
This is a nice benefit for some existing cardholders. I have to say it makes sense since they SP you by giving you your credit score and payment history you have with them anyway.

That's actually a good question... honestly if I close the Delta (which is very possible) I'll probably only reapply for one of the others if they make the offer good enough to justify the AF (I'm simply banking the SkyPesos). I got the Delta Gold mainly to serve as a credit line 'donor' anyway, and when it was approved for $1k that kind of messed up the plan... LOL.
The first year's AF was waived, and the second year AF doesn't come up until May so I have some time to think about it. Since I've already got more than $95 worth of value out of it anyway I might decide to pay the AF one time just to see if they eventually give it an auto-bump, of course that's a $95 experiment. For somebody who doens't fly it's really a hard card to justify (understandably); on the other hand, even with a $1k credit line it would be valuable to someone who flies Delta often if for no other reason than the baggage benefit. None of this was a surprise to me... I knew what I was getting into; it's now just a matter of if (or when) to close it.
If only it was still possible to change it to a Hilton... LOL.

I'm not absolutely sure it was only a SP, but it does look that way... I agree that it makes sense; like you mention, it's not like they have any doubts about our financial situation, anyway. Even Pooka has stated that Amex knows quite a bit about their cardholders.
I was planning to garden anyway, but at the same time keep an eye out for this... now that it's in my pocket (or soon to be) I can relax and actually 'enjoy' the garden. I plan to concentrate now on APR reductions, SP CLIs, and possibly even pruning one or two for good measure (CareCredit is flirting with the chopping block).
Thanks again!
Congrats, UncleB, on a very nice approval! Great SL and super low APR! I've got three cards with Amex, with nice SL's, but I've never been given or approved for an increase since I've had them (I think it's been almost two years). Never filed bk, but had baddies dating back to 2009 which have aged off my CR's. They still won't budge and I don't ask anymore. I'm still very thankful to them for all that they have given me.
With your $2K increase on your BCP, I'd say they're warming up to you! Hope some Delta love is right around the corner. You'll be gardening with a cache of wonderful cards, great scores, and total contentment! Doesn't get any better than that, my friend!
