Amex Gold - 19 Years Old :)

Hi all,

I'd just wanted to share that I've recently got approved for the Amex Gold. I'm currently 19 years old and got my first credit card almost 16 months ago.

My first credit card I got on my 18th birthday, a BofA cash rewards - 800$ limit initially(2300$ now).

My second credit card I'd gotten two months ago, a Chase Freedom Unlimited - 3400$ limit. (My BofA limit moved up a month prior to applying for this).

My Amex card says "No pre-Set Spending Limit".

I'd just applied with a 714(Experian), which is on the low side of scores for me. I usually keep around a 750 but I've been using my balance a decent amount lately. I pulled the trigger anyway and applied instead of waiting next month with 0% utilization, and I'm happy I did. 50,000 points, 1:1 conversion for ANA, free round trip to Japan for me soon .

Congrats.... If you dont mind, how much did you list for your income when you applied.
When you turned 18 and applied for your first card, the bofa with the 800 SL did you have anything showing on your credit? As in any Authorize users? Or did you have a blank file?

For my Amex I applied with 28,500 income. For my first credit card, BofA Cash Rewards, I had 0 prior credit history, however I had a checking account with them for the last 4 years prior and a good amount of cash flow/spending. Hope this helps!
