Amex Hilton. I got it but I dont want it now

So I have a bucketed Delta Amex that I have had for 3 years with a limit of $1000.  Cannot ever get an increase on this card.  I do fly on Delta so it is a useful card and Ive tried heavy usage, paying in full, carrying a balance you name it.  No increase.  (I had a ch 7 13 years ago of which Amex was a part) I was blacklisted for a decade and in 2020 they let me off the BL and gave me this delta card.  I was happy to be back in but after 3 years its clear this card is not going to ever grow as I have no baddies on credit, decent income, 1% util etc.  Today I figured I would app for a new Amex and they maybe would see my credit scores all over 720 and give me a decent limit and I wouldve closed the Delta but nope...I get no bonus on the HIlton due to old HIlton card 20 years ago I suppose and then bam they give me another BS $1K card.  It clearly is going to be the same bucketed card I guess just like the delta?  What are my options as I dont want this Hilton card now.  Can I combine it and have a bucketed $2K delta which at least I can charge an airfare every now and then or should I just close both since clearly 13 years later, Amex is still scared of my old BK despite me demonstrating responsible behavior ever since?  I just dont want all these low limt cards anymore bc you charge one thing and it tanks your credit score...

BTW I have fraud alerts on all my reports and my EX and EQ are locked.  Somehow I got instantly approved online without them verifying my identity which is a bit concerning to me.

Re: Amex Hilton. I got it but I dont want it now

Amex typically does SP approvals w/locked EX as a current customer, but very interesting data point that your approval was able to bypass your FA.

Did you have to verify for your first Amex approval because of your FA?

You should be able to find a menu to combine your limits, but idk how much they're going to allow you to pull from a $1000 card, if anything

congrats all the same, personally, I would just keep them and use them as they provide benefit to you and hopefully one day Amex lifts your restriction and gives you meaningful limits again

Re: Amex Hilton. I got it but I dont want it now

You can search for my other posts today I now have a $3700 no pull Delta reserve amex that I got approved for yet I never applied for it.  I do think the chat agent did something to cause this bc I would never app for a card that has a $550 fee. Dont know what I am going to do with all this but have to wait until I get the cards to try and combine and close them.  Funny thing is a couple weeks ago I applied for a Marriott card and got denied straight out yet now they gave me 2 cards in a day one of which I didnt even app for lol idk what is with Amex. All I wanted was a CLI on my Delta Gold and to downgrade it to the Blue so I have no annual fee and now all this nonsense...oh well.

As for the FA on my accounts yes it is quite baffling how it didnt tell me to call to verify my identity.  And I have locks on the bureaus as well so IDK how they pulled my credit ?
