Amex PR Gold Approval!!!

So I bit the bullet and stepped out of the garden to try my hand at getting approved for a new Amex PR Gold. To my surprise, they approved me. I'm sooooooo excited but here's the thing. Any other time in the past when I applied for a card in addition to my Zync, even when I logged in and it auto populated my personal information, it resulted in a hard pull.

I then found that later on when I applied as a new member without an account and got denied, it was a soft pull. You see where I'm going with this right??? Today, I apped as a new member without logging on and I got approved. Now they want me to create a new user id to set up my preferences and all before my card gets here in 2-3 days.

My question to you guys is, is there some way that I can merge the two profiles upon arrival of the card and still get a 2011 "Member Since" backdate? Or am I pretty much up the creek?

Nice!  I'm hoping **bleep** gold offer would go nicely with that

Once you get the card and go online to activate it one of the options will be to use a current logon. That should take care of that issue. As to the backdating you're going to have to talk to a CSR but they are pretty helpful at AMEX.

What's in my wallet: Cap1 Venture NFCU Sig Visa Delta Gold Amex BCE Citi Simplicity IHG World MC Amazon Visa CSP
Starting Score: 5/2010 550-ish

Thanks Cageym, hopefully it will work out and I won't have difficulties. I'll wait for the card to come.

I agree. After I discovered I could not upgrade my Zync I started to just sock drawer it and not try to get anymore amex cards but then they discontinued the zync and made adding new packs a total headache so I decided I would take a stab at it. Not to mention I travel a lot through my job and the presale perks on events is nice too.
