So I'm so excited to share I have been approved for the Amex platinum after checking the pre-approval for 4 weeks straight with no offers. Surprisely, this time it did say I have been pre-approved. Hesitant to apply, with just in full disbelief I went on after reading "will not affect your credit score unless accepted"
I then fully applied and I got approved!!! This is actually my first major credit card I'd say.

5 inquiries in the last year.
7 cards total all around 500 or less other than my USAA Amex rewards which is at 2000.
now my question is.... is there any chance that I can still get denied? Like an error in the system. I'm in so much disbelief that I'm thinking it's an error? I'm also thinking this because I tried to get my card numbers and it said something along the lines of they can't email me or there's an error with emailing my card numbers
****UPDATE
So I guess everything did go through correctly. I was able to create my account and log in.
now my next question. Should I try for the gold as I do know these cards work very well hand in hand together.
Congratulations!
Looks like you're in. I wouldn't worry too much about not being able to get the number now. It's probably exactly what they said, a system error of some kind. I highly doubt they're going to tell you the approval was an error.

"now my next question. Should I try for the gold as I do know these cards work very well hand in hand together."
Only if you can make use of the various credits to justify having both a $695 and a $250 annual fee charge cards, and anticipate lots of travel, dining, riding Ubers, etc..

Congratulations. It can be a great card with the proper spend. I also agree with @markbeiser. The Platinum $695 AF definitely warrants usage to justify that fee. Also, do you have spend qualifiers to attain for a points signup bonus? I would focus your spend on that before going for another AMEX card.
Congrats on the approval!
Congrats on your Approval!

I travel for work once a month so I needed a dedicated travel card.
And the signup bonus was something like $6000 spend in 6 months for 80,000 point or something like that. Which won't be difficult to do.
Congratulations on your approval.
