Recently I settled my Amex Gold with a "remaining" balance of $460 but I want to regain my membership with Amex and unfortunately the Optima card offer is no longer available. Amex also deleted the account from my credit reports and I'm left wondering should I just pay the remaining balance and hope I can apply in the future?
Any advice on how to proceed?
Edit: Great news! What a stunning turn of events. After posting this thread, I came across another post where a user used the pre-approval tool on Amex's website and I tried it also and found a approval for the Gold card!!!!!! My heart was racing thinking there's no way I'm getting approved for this card since I recently settled my account. So with nothing to lose, I was shockly approved!!!!!! I am in shock. I wasn't able to get my card number right away since the webpage timed out, but I checked the application status tool to confirm it was indeed approved. Right now I'm waiting on my approval email with account information! I guess this thread can be moved to the approvals forum!
