I apped a few months back, hoping to get the MC but received a gas card. Totally worthless to me as I have no BP gas stations here. Congrats.
Thanks all, and congrats. Will keep my finger off the trigger.
Synch bank has omly sent me one prequalified credit card off, the one store I dont need JCPenny and it was only talking about the store card although at the time I would definitehy qualified for the MC version lol.
but anyways, usually when they sent you an email or letter like that, it will say you are pre approved for Old Navy Visa Card or Say you are pre approved for Wal-Mart / Sams Club Store Card.
You can get your foot in the door with the Visa on this card at 695 TU Fico, 1500 to start but gets raised rapidly. high apr, only incentive is really bp gas loyalty, getting stuck with the store card on this one would be a major bummer. did I miss the part about what your score is?
I have the Visa since july and it sucks...BIG time. The pump discount varies every single time, 0-$.25/gal, 1/3 of the time no discount.
What's even worse? If the pump cash price is $1.99, credit price $2.09 but, you have $.09 rewards discount and elect to use it, you pay $2.00 USING THEIR friggin' card!
It's a scam and I don't use it anymore
Received my offer as well. Does any know if this is a HP or SP?

I think it depends on the station - I don't have any of the issues you mention other than a few stations being 4 cents higher for credit - so far my BP card has saved me a bunch of cash (always PIF with gas cards, even Visa gas cards). Hardly a "scam" IMO, but if it doesn't work for you, close the card - thats what I do on a regular basis.
LOL, rewards on the pump are like the "wheel of fortune", no rewards, $.09/gal, $.17/gal, $.25/gal AND if you don't use rewards it gives you the cash price, credit price if you use rewards!
I gassed up 3 or 4 of our cars/wk, always a different price came up. I've sock drawered it for now

Got the mailer, but tore it up. It's the same program as the rewards card I swipe before I use my general spend card....I don't see the point.
@bldmt wrote:Roseyk, did you log on and put the approval code and last name in? Did it say VISA or, does it show a Visa stacked on top of another card?
I haven't keyed any info in, I have a couple of other Cc I want to app for before BP. I would definitely be interested only in the Visa card and I beleive your TU or EX score would dictate whether your offered the store card or vIsa card. On my pre approval it's pretty generic on the offer not stating Visa, but both of my scores are over 720 now and I can't see them offering a store card. If they did, the account would be closed within minutes of it being open, lol!
I have the the acceptance certificate along with the authorization code and have to Dec 31 to apply. It's very high APR 26.9. It's definitely a card that could not carry any type of balance and even if the card grows, your stuck with a high APR. Just don't know if this card will work for me.
