Okay, I just opened 5 new accounts. No more apps for a year I'm thinking!
Best Buy- 1,000
Ashley Furniture- 3,000
Pottery Barn- 3,000
Those were planned apps since I need things from those stores and like their promotional financing. My bonus app was Chase Freedom- instant approval for 2,000! That was a nice little surprise ![]()
My SUPER bonus app is the amex everyday! Starting limit is 2,000! I seriously almost passed out just now when that came through approved, cause my scores aren't THAT great! EQ 649 TU 662 EX 664.
This board has been invaluable to me throughout my credit rebuilding journey. I just can't get over where I was not so long ago with my collections and defaulted student loans, and now here I am with 5 approvals back to back! No more new accounts for quite awhile for this chicky!
Many congratulations!
request CLI on Pottery Barn!
you can also recon ashley furniture CL (ask for $10k)
You think the ashley recon would work even though I told them in the app that my purchase amount was 5k and they only gave me 3k? I'm a total noob when it comes to recon stuff, never tried it before! I'm not actually sure what the price would be yet of the set I'm looking at. Do you just call them up and say "hey, I want more?" Lol!
Cold app on all of them, although I do have a few comenity so I figured pottery barn was a gimme, and I had a good feeling about ashley since synchrony had previously sent me a pre-qual for a walmart card they issue. I was so nervous about all of these though! I'm one of those insanely cautious people so it was hard to just wing it. Glad I went for the amex!
set up your online account with Pottery Barn and request CLI (I bet you can request at least once! keep requesting until you get 7-10 day message)
as for ashely I'm not sure since you got less than you asked for... I didn't ask for anything and I got $1k and called in and asked for $10k and the computer spit back another $200.
I think they are similar to CareCredit where it's all computer done and I think it's standard to get a bit more if you ask the day after you apply... I called credit solutions but they had to transfer me and then that lady took the request and gave me the counter a few seconds later... it's all computer done.
Hmm, good to know! Guess I better figure out what the heck my purchase will add up to and then I can kinda go from there! ![]()

just request $10k or north of that!
they don't input purchase price so it won't matter.
Congrats! Thanks for sharing.
