Approved for the Freedom. Got the 7-10. Called the next day and was told I was denied. I offered my case and still denied. I then asked if limit can be taken from Amazon Chase card. She allowed. Closed Amazon Chase, Freedom approved with $2k limit (which was the limit on my Amazon Chase).
I frankly don't care about the limit. I just wanted this card before I go on some app sprees in the next few months. If I didn't get it now, Chase's dreaded 5 card rule would have prevented me from getting the card for several years. I'll put some spend through it and hopefully I'll get some auto luv that others have been reporting.
Stats: scores a tad lower than my sig. All cards in sig opened this year.
Congrats as stated in the Amex Plat thread..
Great that you got this card when you did so you have the powerful Freedom/CSP combo and can apply for other credit now and in the future without having to worry about the stupid 5 accounts in 2 years thing biting you in the butt.. I use the CSP for most of my dining out which is great and use the freedom for gas this quarter, willl be amazon next quarter and restaurants another quarter then transfer to the CSP. I really don't use the freedom other than the 5% categories, but for a 0 AF and the transfer to the CSP and eventually out to partner makes it awesome

CreditCuriousity. I'm not familiar with Chase's rules, can you explain please? I have a Chase Freedom for a few months now, my first Chase account. Any thing to look out for when applying another Chase card?

Chase has a fairly new rule in place the you can only get Chase branded cards being Freedom/CSP if you have less than 5 new accounts in 2 years, it is a new rule.. thus if you have the freedom and want the CSP you must be under that 5 new accounts in two years to be able to get the CSP.. This doesn't apply to co-branded cards such as Marriott/Ritz/United, etc... Hope this helps
Nice.. Congrats!!!

Thanks CC. Appreciate all your help and support through this process. I'm extremely happy to get my foot in the door with Chase, and now AMEX. This year is my first year of credit cards in almost 7 years. So I'm in a good place.
Thanks everyone!

Thank you Credit curiousity! Yes it helps a lot. I definitely won't be able to quailfy for CSP because of other CC I have acquired, but it's nice to know that the Amazon Visa, United and others are still obtainable. maybe I set the CSP for a 2017 goal, lol! Thanks again!
